Join me in my digital painting class at CGMA!

General / 23 August 2023

Hi everyone!

I'm excited to share that I'll be teaching CGMA's digital painting class over the fall!

Last spring I got the opportunity to teach this course for the first time and I was really surprised how well it connected with everyone. This fall I'll be going back in and I'd love to invite you along. I'll be teaching with the fantastic Lane Brown who put together 8 weeks worth of fantastic lessons covering the most important principles of painting. I'll be mentoring, giving feedback each week and there will be a live Q&A each week where you can ask questions, join me for a demo or talk about homework assignments.

Some of the demo's I did in the livestreams

The course covers a broad range of important fundamentals such as drawing form, painting from observation, composition and my personal favourite; color theory. I will send you personalized feedback based on what you want to learn and will demo workflows, tips and tricks during the Q&A's. We talk about the lessons, the industry, about taking a mentally balanced approach to being an artist. Wether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist that feels like you're missing some steps, this is a great way to reset your art foundation.

Two examples of the theory we'll discuss

Here's a couple of testimonials from recent students:

"I think the course was incredibly helpful, especially the feedback portions. There was a lot of focus to catering feedback to the specific student's work and style, which helped understand what technical skills we should be focusing on."

"Samma really helped me gain confidence in my own painting skills. And his Q&A's helped put the lectures into perspective, allowing me to properly understand the subject matter of the week"

"I chose Samma as the instructor. He was always helpful, understandable, friendly and gave great insight into his workflow, general problems and provided very interesting personal tips regarding his journey as an artist. He took his time, gave valuable feedback and answered all the questions at the Q&A patiently. The pacing of this course was perfect and I felt like time and space was given for the students to grow."

"Samma is a great instructor who always feels like he cares about the improvements of his students."

I hope to see you there!
